Chase Dietz Third During BAPS Night
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
YORK, Pa. (May 16, 2016) – After just three starts since returning to competition in Central Pennsylvania, Chase Dietz is back on the podium.
The York, Pennsylvania, native earned his first podium finish of the 2016 season on Saturday night, May 14, at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, crossing under the final checkers third in the BAPS Night running order behind Stevie Smith and Greg Hodnett. For Dietz, the podium finish was the result of a solid heat race and match race effort, earning a third row starting position for the 25-lap, $5,000-to-win main event. The 2015 North American 410 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year now has two top-ten finishes on the season in the Pigeon Hills.
“Man, we really needed this,” said Chase Dietz. “This was an entire team effort. I can’t thank everyone enough for this opportunity. We still have a few things we need to work on, but this is a great momentum and mental boost for our team. I want to thank Troy Godfrey for the continuing support, as well as all of my sponsors for standing behind me during the last few months. We’re excited about this, we know our potential, but we still have work to do.”
Chase Dietz, pilot of the Haas Shocks, Godfrey Racing Engines, Embee & Sons, Gardy Enterprises, Mark’s Automotive, Pancho’s Race Products, Keizer Wheels, Beer Hill Gang, No. 2D, will enjoy some time off before returning to competition in a few weeks. The third generation racer plans to return to the driver’s seat on Saturday, May 28, for the annual Hilly Rife Memorial.
“We aren’t going to join the Outlaws this week,” explained Chase Dietz. “Our plan is to take things one week at a time and preserve our equipment. I think it is in our best interest to enjoy the Outlaw programs from the stands this week. We’ll be back at it soon enough.”
