Chase Dietz Will Rejoin Godfrey and Gobrecht in 2016
Complete Schedule TBD
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
York, PA (January 26, 2016) – After a successful 2015 campaign in the 358 sprint ranks with car owner Troy Godfrey, resulting in a Williams Grove Speedway track championship and five victories at two different Pennsylvania ovals, Chase Dietz is pleased to announce that he will continue his driving duties in the Godfrey Racing Engines, No. 5G. The only change will be engine size, as the team plans to focus solely on 410 sprint car competition in 2016.
“This is an exciting step for this race team” Chase Dietz said, “We proved to be a great combination last season, so we’re excited to take the next step and see what we can do with a ‘410.’ I can’t thank Troy Godfrey and the entire crew enough for this chance. They never fail to give me great equipment and put me in a position to win races. We have a lot of confidence heading into the season so we’ll see what we can do.”
Chase Dietz and Troy Godfrey, who is celebrating 25 years of racing in 2016, will organize a schedule comprised of roughly 20 events around the Central Pennsylvania circuit. On top of that, the team will continue their tradition of contributing the local community through racing.
Dietz will also return to the cockpit of the Scott Gobrecht-owned, Golf Cart Services, Bad Boy Buggies, ServiceMaster Clean Janitorial Service of York and Lancaster, No. 44D in 2016. The duo earned one victory in 2015 during 410 competition; a career first feat for Chase Dietz. The team will make their season debut during the Lincoln Speedway ‘Icebreaker’ on Saturday, February 27. A set schedule for the upcoming year has not yet been determined.
“I’m happy to be back with Scott Gobrecht and his team this season” Dietz explained, “I earned my first ever ‘410’ win with him, so getting a chance to continue that relationship is really special. It looks like we’ll mold a schedule around what we had last year. We learned a lot last season and now know where we need to be. I’m confident that we have what it takes to get back to victory lane.”
If all goes according to plan, Chase Dietz will also participate in select midget events in 2016.
“I’d love the chance to drive a midget” Dietz explained, “We are working on a few possibilities right now. I am open to other opportunities, also.”
