Colton Flinner Heads to ‘Late Model Mania’ at Lavonia Speedway

Pittsburgh, PA (March 5th, 2013) – With short track racing still at an ‘offseason’ standstill in most areas of the northeast part of the country, Colton Flinner has found a way to bypass that dilemma. The Allison Park, Pennsylvania native has been traveling south during the recent winter weeks; giving his crate late model team an opportunity begin their racing season much earlier than expected. The two-time and defending Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway FASTRAK/Pro Late Model track champion has spent his entire racing season in the south thus far, and will continue that trend this weekend with another venture into the heart of Georgia. The American Framers, VOX Energy, A.W. Beattie Career Center, Bellisarios Lounge, Randig Towing, no. 75 crate late model team will spend three nights at the Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia for the annual ‘Late Model Mania;’ complete with a $3,000-to-win main event.
“We want to keep this season going without any breaks” explained Colton Flinner, “Things have been going pretty good so far…had a little bad luck last Sunday at Cherokee but kept it inside the top 10…hopefully we can shift our momentum a little bit more and find victory lane…I just can’t thank everyone enough for making this all happen…my family and all of my supporters have been behind me one-hundred percent…I wouldn’t be here without them!”
Colton Flinner will spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 8th, 9th & 10th, at the Lavonia, Georgia oval for the ‘Late Model Mania’ program. The three-day event will consist of a full practice session for all ‘Late Model Mania’ divisions, including the FASTRAK Pro Late Models, on Friday evening, March 8th; followed by qualifying and heat races on Saturday, March 9th; with the $3,000-to-win main event for the FASTRAK Pro Late Models being held on Sunday, March 10th. The Ultimate Super Late Models will also be on the weekend card; with their division vying for a $5,000 top prize on Sunday evening.
“It’s going to be another fun weekend” said Flinner, “Seat time and track time is really important to us…traveling south will hopefully be beneficial to our entire FASTRAK season…hopefully one of these trips will pay off and we park this ‘75’ in victory lane!”
