Pittsburgh, PA (11/11/2012) – After earning a Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway crate late model track championship in 2011, Allison Park, Pennsylvania native Colton Flinner would repeat success in 2012 by defending his Pro Late Model track championship at ‘Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile.’ Flinner was victorious only once during his 2012 Pittsburgh campaign; proving once again that consistency is just as important as winning when battling for a track title. Flinner spent each and every Saturday evening at the big half-mile at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway; racing against a solid roster of crate late model competitors and championship contenders.

“I would say my season was pretty awesome” said Flinner, “We won a second consecutive championship and I had an opportunity to race at a few different race tracks including Eldora and 311 Speedway in North Carolina…we were just really consistent this year and that is huge when in the hunt for a championship…I can’t thank everybody enough…all of my supporters and sponsors…a huge thank you!”

Colton Flinner’s second Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway championship was the result of non-stop consistency. The ’75’ crate late model team finished inside the top five (5) in every ‘PPMS’ start except two. The point championship ended with an eleven (11) point gap between champion, Colton Flinner, and runner-up, Kyle Lukon. Lukon, a fellow Western Pennsylvania native, lead the standings for a large portion of the season; before surrendering the lead and championship to Colton Flinner. Flinner earned his only win of the 2012 season back on August 4th; beating track championship contender, Kyle Lukon, and regional traveler, Josh Holtgraver, for a sixth career victory.

2013 will have a lot in store for Colton Flinner and his family owned operation; as he plans to race the entire FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series schedule. The 2012 FASTRAK schedule consisted of almost 30 events across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York for the traveling crate late model series; promising a busy upcoming year for Flinner and his ’75’ team. If 2011 and 2012 prove anything, it is that Flinner has the consistency and motivation to chase a touring series championship.

“We are going to run the FASTRAK Northeast Tour next season” explained Flinner, “We are really looking forward to next season…I just can’t thank everybody enough for this season…everybody involved played such a huge part in our racing program…everybody deserves a huge thank you.”
