Allison Park, PA (September 15th, 2014) – Colton Flinner visited Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway victory lane twice during the recent weekend; sweeping crate late model competition during the 26th Annual ‘Pittsburgher 100.’ Flinner, who spent a vast majority of the 2014 season competing in the super late model ranks, made frequent crate starts at ‘P.P.M.S.’ in 2014, and now has two more victories to add to his growing list of accomplishments at ‘Dirt’s Monster Half Mile.’ Flinner’s back-to-back triumphs during the ‘Pittsburgher 100’ weekend included a career-first RUSH Touring Series victory on Saturday night, September 13th worth $1,200.
“What a weekend!” expressed Colton Flinner, “We went into the weekend with a goal to win, but to win both nights is just incredible…we’ve been working really hard and I’m glad things are starting to pay off…we’ve had plenty of up and down moments this year, but we kept motivated and kept moving forward…I just want to thank everyone who is involved…without their help, nothing would be possible…we still have some races left on our schedule this year…we want to get a super late model win next…that’s our goal!”
After earning a career-first RUSH Touring Series victory on Saturday night, September 13th, Allison Park, Pennsylvania’s Colton Flinner would repeat winning success on Sunday evening, September 14th during the final night of the 26th Annual ‘Pittsburgher 100.’ Flinner, a former two-time ‘P.P.M.S.’ crate late model track champion, earned the RUSH ‘Weekly Series’ win at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway to close-out the weekend; the win was worth $1,000. Being a former FASTRAK Regional Touring Series main event winner, Colton Flinner now has two major touring wins in his long list of recent accomplishments. The FASTRAK victory took place at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania late last season.
Colton Flinner made back-to-back super late model feature starts during the recent ‘Pittsburgher 100’ weekend at ‘P.P.M.S.’ as well; recording a 19th place performance and an 18th place performance during each of the weekend’s 50-lap/$5,000-to-win programs. Flinner, who pilots the American Framers, VOX Energy, A.W. Beattie Career Center, Bellisarios Lounge, Randig Towing, no. 75 super late model full-time in 2014, faced-off against the region’s finest super late model aces during the 26th Annual ‘Pittsburgher 100.’ Flinner finished 18th on Saturday during the first of two 50-lap features over the course of the weekend. The Western Pennsylvania youngster then capped-off his ‘Pittsburgher 100’ super late model campaign with a 19th place finish on Sunday night during the ‘Herb Scott Memorial.’
“We struggled some this weekend in our super late model, but we are still learning” said Flinner, “We have been working hard each and every week…those guys we raced against this weekend are some of the best around…we’ll keep working and keep getting more seat time…that’s what it takes.”
