Pittsburgh, PA (1/22/2013) – Tw0-time and defending Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway FASTRAK/Pro-Late Model track champion, Colton Flinner, will kick-start his 2013 campaign at the 2013 ‘Winternationals’ at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida. The Western Pennsylvania youngster and his familiar ’75’ team will take part in the FASTRAK Late Model portion of the East Bay ‘Winternationals’ program; from Wednesday, January 30th until Saturday, February 2nd. The four-day program will feature a practice session for all FASTRAK crate late model competitors on Wednesday, January 30th; followed by three consecutive nights of competition. Thursday and Friday’s programs will feature $2,000-to-win FASTRAK main events; followed by a $3,000-to-win finale on Saturday, February 2nd. This will be Flinner’s first trip to the ‘Sunshine State’ for crate late model competition.

“Starting the season at East Bay is going to be a lot of fun and really cool” expressed Flinner, “I have always wanted to race there so I am really excited to get down there and get started…hopefully we can get the season started on the right track and qualify for all of the races…we have been working really hard to get everything ready so hopefully this team can go as far as earning a win!”

Once ‘Winternationals’ action wraps-up for Colton Flinner, the Western Pennsylvania native will return to his Allegheny County home to prepare for a busy and demanding upcoming season. Flinner plans to compete full-time with the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series in 2013; as well as compete at select RUSH Dirt Late Model Series events. When not on the road racing against crate late model teams from around the region, Flinner will return ‘home’ to Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway to race on a local level. The two-time ‘PPMS’ track champion has had plenty of success at ‘Pittsburgh’s Monster Half-Mile’ in recent seasons, and still looks forward to returning to the facility when tour duties are on hold.

“I am really excited to race with the touring series (FASTRAK) this year!” said Flinner, “This will give me an opportunity to see a lot of tracks that I have never been to, and it will also give me an opportunity to get lots of seat time…our goal is to definitely be competitive and hopefully earn a few wins on the tour…keeping ourselves in championship contention is obviously a goal, too…I just can’t explain how excited I am to be doing this!”

Although Colton Flinner’s 2013 campaign will consist of mainly crate late model competition, the young man still hopes to find himself behind the wheel of a super late model by the end of the upcoming season. If the opportunity should arise, look for the recent Hampton High School graduate to make a career-first start in the $25,000-to-win, 2013 ‘Pittsburgher’ at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway; sanctioned by the all-new National Dirt Racing League. The prestigious super late model event has been highlighting Western Pennsylvania for 25 years.

“Running a super late model has always been my dream” said Flinner when discussing the possibility, “Maybe by the end of the upcoming year, that dream can become a reality…it would be more then a dream come true to race in this year’s ‘Pittsburgher’ at PPMS…it would be just plain awesome!”

For those wanting to get a closer look at a full size crate late model, Colton Flinner will have his familiar ’75’ on display this weekend during the annual ‘World of Wheels’ at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh from Friday, January 25th until Sunday, January 27th. The car will be on display for all fans and supporters to see; so stop down this weekend and say ‘hi.’ For more information on this event, visit www.autorama.com!
