Cory Haas in action at Williams Grove Speedway 

The highest paying event during this year’s Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek will be taking shape on Friday evening, July 6th, at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The $10,000-to-win ‘Mitch Smith Memorial’ will feature the some of the top ‘410’ sprint car teams on the planet; many of which stationed and located right in the heart of Central Pennsylvania, and known commonly as the ‘Pennsylvania Posse.’ The lap 30 main event on Friday evening will boast a $33,000 purse, and will act as the finale of a tw0-day speedweek appearance at Williams Grove Speedway. The Mechanicsburg oval will also host a speedweek round on Thursday evening, July 5th; awarding the winner $5,000 after 25 laps of action. Two of Team Fully Injected’s representatives will be in action Friday night for the ‘Mitch Smith Memorial’ program; each vying for an opportunity to the be 2012 champion. 

York, Pennsylvania native and Fully Injected member, Cory Haas, is certainly no stranger to Williams Grove Speedway. The former ‘358’ sprint car track champion at the world famous half mile has recorded three consecutive top five finishes in ‘410’ sprint car competition in the last three week. The pilot of the familiar white and maroon ’11C’ charged from a 14th place starting position to finish 5th in his most recent start at the paper-clip shaped facility, and currently sits 11th in the Williams Grove Speedway driver standings. Haas will be in action at Williams Grove Speedway this Friday night for the $10,000-to-win ‘Mitch Smith Memorial,’ and looks to earn the largest payday of his ‘410’ sprint car racing career. Haas currently sits 9th in the Hoseheads Central PA sprint car standings, and has 3 wins in 2012 at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. 

Alan Krimes doing battle for position at Williams Grove Speedway

Alan Krimes, Fully Injected’s newest member from Pennsylvania Posse territory, is the defending winner of the ‘Mitch Smith Memorial’ event at Williams Grove Speedway, and looks to make it two-in-a-row this Friday night. The 2011 ‘Mitch Smith Memorial’ victory was Krimes’ first ‘410’ win at Williams Grove Speedway; earning the Denver, PA native a hefty $10,000 winner’s share. The familiar Conestoga Valley Garage ’87’ spends each and every weekend racing in Central Pennsylvania, and currently sits 10th in the Williams Grove Speedway driver standings.  Krimes’ ‘Mitch Smith Memorial’ victory in 2011 ended Daryn Pittman’s two year winning streak of the prestigious event. The Denver, Pennsylvania native has one win in 2012, and finds himself 8th in the Hoseheads Central PA sprint car standings. 

Williams Grove Speedway will also host a Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek event on Thursday evening, July 5th, worth $5,000. Both Haas and Krimes are scheduled to be at that event.
