York, PA (11/20/2012) – York, Pennsylvania native and Central Pennsylvania ‘410’ sprint car competitor, Cory Haas, ended his 2012 racing campaign in “Pennsylvania Posse” territory as one of the top ten drivers who competes regularly along the Central Pennsylvania circuit. The former ‘358’ sprint car hotshoe, who claimed nearly ten (10) total track championships in ‘358’ sprint car competition, finished the 2012 season eighth in the final Speedway Motors Central PA Sprint Car Point Series. The pilot of the Michael Barshinger owned ’11C’ operation earned five (5) wins over the course of the 2012 season; as well as finished third in the final Lincoln Speedway sprint car point standings on the strength of  four (4) wins at the 3/8’s mile oval. Cory Haas’ 2012 season highlight came on Friday evening of Labor Day weekend; as the pilot of the familiar Barshinger ’11C’ sprint car would go on to celebrate a win with his team during one of Central Pennsylvania’s most anticipated blockbuster events. The win was Haas’ only victory at the Williams Grove Speedway in 2012; but was worth a hefty $5,000. The Williams Grove Speedway win came during the annual Jack Gunn Memorial ‘Triple 20’s’ program; a spectacle that happens each and every season at the world famous half-mile.

Cory Haas was also very consistent at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Whether Haas was racing against the weekend regulars, or an invading series, the former speedway champion was on top of his game. The former Lincoln Speedway ‘358’ sprint car track champion earned a top five finish against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at the Lincoln Speedway back in May of 2012. Haas finished 4th in the World of Outlaws main event; rallying from a 17th place starting position to earn the top five finish. The Michael Barshinger owned operation would earn two additional top ten finishes during World of Outlaws competition at the Williams Grove Speedway to go along with their top five at Lincoln.
