YORK, Pa. (April 29, 2019) – Despite a lack of heat race passing points ultimately resulting in a ninth row starting position for main event competition, York’s Cory Haas recovered to the best of his ability, moving ahead from 18th to finish 13th at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, April 27.
The driver of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Old Republic Distillery/Creekside Auto Sales/No. 39 sprint car has been a frequent flyer at the Port Royal ‘Speed Palace’ in 2019, attaining one top-five and one top-ten finish thus far this season.
“We were able to recover a few positions, but getting buried that deep for the start can make things really difficult,” Haas explained, who finished fifth at Port Royal one week prior. “It certainly wasn’t the result we were looking for, but we know our potential. All we can do is go back to the shop, work on some things and try again next weekend.”
Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports will continue their 2019 campaign with another round of action in Posse Country on Friday and Saturday, May 3 & 4. Tentative plans include visiting Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, followed by a stop at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway on Saturday.
