York, PA (August 13, 2014) – The 2014 central Pennsylvania racing season will continue for Cory Haas this Friday and Saturday, August 15th & 16th; with planned visits to each of his typical weekend destinations. Haas, who pilots the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., Thornton Chevrolet, Tailgaters Grill & Drafthouse, no. 11C ‘410’ sprinter, will enter competition at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday night, August 15th; all before making the tow south to the Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, August 16th. Although the York, Pennsylvania native has been winless thus far during his 2014 campaign, Haas will technically have three opportunities to end that negative streak this Friday and Saturday.

Williams Grove Speedway will host ‘Twin 20’s’ on Friday evening, August 15th. The time trial program will feature two, 20-lap main events for the ‘410’ sprint cars; awarding $2,500 to each main event winner. Cory Haas will enter the ‘Twin 20’s’ program on Friday night currently 11th in the Williams Grove Speedway ‘410’ driver standings. The double-feature format will give the Haas/Barshinger duo two opportunities to earn a spot on the front stretch victory lane for the first time in 2014. Cory Haas is certainly no stranger to victory lane at ‘The Grove;’ he is a former Jack Gunn Memorial champion.

The upcoming weekend will resume for Cory Haas on Saturday evening, August 16th with a visit to the Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Haas is currently second in the Lincoln Speedway ‘410’ driver standings; trailing current point leader and two-time winner, Alan Krimes, by 225 points. The Pigeon Hills venue will host a ‘regular’ program this Saturday night, with the ‘410’ sprint cars being joined by the ARDC Midgets. Haas finished on the podium during his last visit to the Lincoln Speedway short track. The former ‘358’ sprint car track champion finished third officially during feature competition on August 9th.

The Michael Barshinger ‘11C’ team will enter the upcoming weekend fourteenth (14th) in the current SPEEDWAY MOTORS/CHAMPION RACING OIL CENTRAL PA SPRINT CARS Presented by HOSEHEADS point standings with 332 points. Cory Haas, a former eight-time Williams Grove Speedway/Lincoln Speedway ‘358’ sprint car track champion, completed the 2013 season twelfth (12th) in the final Central Pennsylvania standings. Haas had one victory last season.
