York, PA (September 26th, 2014) – Cory Haas will attempt to earn the largest payday of his career this Saturday night, September 27th at the Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Haas, who pilots the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., Thornton Chevrolet, Tailgaters Grill & Drafthouse, no. 11C ‘410’ sprint car, will join racers from all areas of the region this Saturday night in the Pigeon Hills; ready to participate in the inaugural ‘Dirt Classic Presented by Kasey Kahne.’ The ‘Dirt Classic’ boasts not only a unique format, but also a $20,000 top prize; making it one of the country’s most-anticipated sprint car programs. Cory Haas, a former four-time ‘358’ sprint car track champion at the Lincoln Speedway, and former Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek ‘410’ main event winner at the same facility, will work towards making history this Saturday night, and earn the first ‘Dirt Classic’ championship. Haas finished third during his most recent Lincoln Speedway feature start last Saturday, September 20th; during the Hank Gentzler Memorial.

The 2014 ‘Dirt Classic Presented by Kasey Kahne’ program will feature qualifying time trials, as well as two sets of heat races for all competitors. Points will be accumulated during qualifying and heat race competition; all helping to set up the evening’s main event lineup. The weekend will officially launch for Cory Haas later this evening (Friday, September 26th) at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The York, Pennsylvania native will participate in the National Open ‘tune-up’ later tonight at ‘The Grove.’ The speedway’s program will feature a full World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series format which includes qualifying time trials. Cory Haas will hunt for his first win of the season during his entire weekend outing.

The Michael Barshinger ‘11C’ team will enter the upcoming weekend twelfth (12th) in the current SPEEDWAY MOTORS/CHAMPION RACING OIL CENTRAL PA SPRINT CARS Presented by HOSEHEADS point standings with 438 points. Cory Haas, a former eight-time Williams Grove Speedway/Lincoln Speedway ‘358’ sprint car track champion, completed the 2013 season twelfth (12th) in the final Central Pennsylvania standings. Haas had one victory last season.
