York, PA (July 24th, 2014) – Although the racing season has yet to cross over into the month of August, it is never too soon to put oneself in position to secure a track championship. Cory Haas, who dedicates each and every racing season to reaching that specific goal, is just 200 points shy of taking the top spot in the Lincoln Speedway track championship chase. The pilot of the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., Thornton Chevrolet, Tailgaters Grill & Drafthouse, no. 11C ‘410’ sprint car has amassed three (3) top-five finishes and nine (9) top-ten finishes at the Abbottstown, Pennsylvania oval over the course of the 2014 season, but still remains unaccounted for in the win column. The former Kevin Gobrecht Memorial champion will attempt to earn his first win of the season, and inch closer towards his championship goal, this Saturday evening, July 26th.

Cory Haas will return to his normal routine this Friday and Saturday in central Pennsylvania. The York, Pennsylvania native will activate the upcoming weekend with a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday night, July 25th. Haas is currently thirteenth (13th) in the Williams Grove Speedway ‘410’ track championship standings. The world-famous dirt oval will feature a regular program for the ‘410’ sprinters this Friday night. Greg Hodnett is the current speedway point leader.

The upcoming weekend will continue for Cory Haas on Saturday evening, July 26th at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Haas is currently tied for second (2nd) with Brian Montieth in the Lincoln ‘410’ track championship standings; just 200 markers shy of point leader, Alan Krimes. The ‘410’ sprinters will be joined by the ‘358’ sprinters on Saturday evening in the Pigeon Hills; giving race fans a double-dose of winged sprint car competition. A Lincoln Speedway win this Saturday night would only help inch the ‘11C’ team closer towards a track title.

The Michael Barshinger ‘11C’ team will enter the upcoming weekend fourteenth (14th) in the current SPEEDWAY MOTORS/CHAMPION RACING OIL CENTRAL PA SPRINT CARS Presented by HOSEHEADS point standings with 284 points. Cory Haas, a former eight-time Williams Grove Speedway/Lincoln Speedway ‘358’ sprint car track champion, completed the 2013 season twelfth (12th) in the final Central Pennsylvania standings. Haas had one victory last season.
