GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 18, 2019) – In terms of statistics, including overall win count, it is safe to assume that Danny Dietrich experienced nothing but success in 2019, but a closer look would reveal a different tale, a tale of tough luck and frustration during the final stretch of his season.
Despite a multi-week run of not-so appealing outcomes, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing maintained composure and eventually snapped the rough spell on Saturday evening, November 16, at BAPS Motor Speedway, ultimately scoring the Sprint Showdown victory worth $10,000; the country’s final winged 410 sprint car event. The win was Dietrich’s first since August 30, simultaneously increasing his 2019 win count to 15.
Dietrich’s trip to victory lane commenced from the front row, utilizing the outside-pole position to eventually work around national invader and full-time Outlaw, Daryn Pittman. The winning move occurred on lap 19 with Dietrich mastering the high line to drive around the Roth Motorsports entry at the exit of turn two.
“That was a lot of fun. We needed that one,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “The last few months have been pretty rough, but my team never gave up. It really makes you question everything when you have rough spells like that, but luckily I have a great team and a great car owner who didn’t allow me to give up. I’m already looking ahead to Florida.”
The BAPS Motor Speedway victory was Dietrich’s second of the year at the facility, his first since April 7.
