GETTYSBURG, Pa. (April 19, 2021) – Despite a rocky start to his four-race weekend, forced to settle with a “DNF” at Virginia Motor Speedway on Thursday after losing a right rear tire while battling inside the top five, then plagued with oil pressure issues during the Tommy Hinnershitz Classic at Williams Grove Speedway, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich recovered to the best of his ability, eventually highlighting the four-race All Star Circuit of Champions stretch with a sixth-place outcome at Port Royal Speedway.

Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car, started tenth during Port Royal’s $10,000-to-win Keith Kauffman Classic, ultimately climbing ahead four spots in 30 laps for his 13th top-ten performance of the year. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native earned his way into the Saturday night showstopper by finishing second during his respective heat race.

Although missing the top-ten during his final start of the weekend, Dietrich did indeed finish, this time cashing in a B-Main transfer position for a 16th-place score during Bedford Speedway’s Johnny Grum Classic on Sunday.

As aforementioned, Dietrich was battling inside the top five at Virginia Motor Speedway when his right rear tire fell victim to an abrasive surface. The 2020 Central PA Sprint Cars Point Series champion kicked-off his evening in the Old Dominion with the fastest time during qualifying time trials.

“It was a long weekend, but we are out here to race and that’s exactly what we are going to do,” Danny Dietrich said, who owns one victory thus far in 2021. “The beginning of the weekend didn’t go too well for us, but we were able to recover for a nice finish at Port, and some solid laps at Bedford. Regardless, I’m proud of my team and I can’t thank them enough for their help and hard work. We have another big weekend ahead, but we’ll be ready.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with a three-pack in the Keystone State, set to visit Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, April 23, an undisclosed location on Saturday, April 24, and Selinsgrove Speedway for the $5,088-to-win Ray Tilley Classic at Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday, April 25. A decision for Saturday will be made later in the week.
