By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (April 25, 2016) – Danny Dietrich finally lost the monkey and cracked into the win column during the recent weekend, earning back-to-back victories in Central Pennsylvania, including one against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, on Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24. In addition to his two consecutive victory lane appearances, “Double-D” earned a runner-up finish at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday night, April 22, giving the Gettysburg native his fifth consecutive top-ten performance at the world famous paperclip in 2016.
“What an awesome weekend, not much else to say, really,” said Danny Dietrich. “I owe this entire weekend to my team. Jake, Cody and Tyler never give up. We were kinda struggling there for a while early on in the year, but they kept pushing and stayed focused. To end a weekend with two wins and a podium is amazing. Just a great feeling to finally get that monkey off of our back. I want to thank my car owner, fans, sponsors and supporters for standing behind me and my team. We’ll work to keep this momentum going and try to win a few more next weekend.”
The pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, No. 48, earned his first win of the 2016 season on Saturday evening, April 23, at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. After starting fourth on the feature grid, the former Lincoln Speedway track champion charged ahead and led the last 20 circuits of the 25-lap main event, holding off Austin Hogue and Jim Siegel at the final checkers for the $3,200 top prize.
Gary Kauffman Racing’s second consecutive win on the weekend occurred on Sunday evening, April 24, at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Sunday night’s victory was worth $5,000, earning the Ray Tilley Classic over the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Dietrich chased recent Arctic Cat All Star main event winner Dave Blaney during the first 27 circuits of the 30-lap main event, eventually taking command on lap 28 and holding on for his first Arctic Cat All Star win of 2016, and the sixth of his career.
Danny Dietrich’s 2016 season will continue this Friday through Sunday, April 29 through May 1, with a third consecutive triple-header weekend in Central Pennsylvania. “Double-D” will make appearances at Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway and Path Valley Speedway Park to help close out the month of April. “The Grove” will feature a full program for the 410 sprinters on Friday night, April 29, followed by the $6,900-to-win, Weldon Sterner Memorial at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, April 30. The weekend will conclude on Sunday evening, May 1, with the $4,000-to-win, “Party at the Path” at Path Valley Speedway Park near Spring Run.
“I think we are all pretty excited to get back to the track this weekend,” said Danny Dietrich. “We want to keep this win streak going. My guys work their tails off. They deserve to be in victory lane so I’ll work as hard as I can to keep making that happen.”
