Danny Dietrich Plans to Battle “Greatest Show on Dirt” in Pennsylvania and New York
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 16, 2016) – The 2016 season has been a roller coaster ride for Gettysburg’s Danny Dietrich, experiencing ultimate highs and unpredicted lows during the first few months. Despite what results read, the slate will be wiped clean beginning Wednesday evening, starting fresh for the upcoming World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series invasion.
“We have a one track mindset right now and that is to challenge the Outlaws and keep them out of victory lane,” said Danny Dietrich. “We’ve done it before and we’ll work to do it again. I just want to thank everyone who has stood behind this team since the beginning. Our year hasn’t been the best by our standards, but knowing that we have our fans and loyal supporters on our side makes everything better. We’re pumped for this week.”
Danny Dietrich, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, No. 48, is scheduled to join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on four separate occasions between May 18 and May 22, visiting three different dirt ovals in two states. Dietrich has three career victories against the “Greatest Show on Dirt,” with his most recent occurring on July 24 during Summer Nationals competition at Williams Grove Speedway.
Dietrich will begin his long weekend with the World of Outlaws on Wednesday evening, May 18, at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The former track champion in the Pigeon Hills is a two-time World of Outlaws main event winner at Lincoln Speedway, earning back-to-back victories in 2012 and 2013.
The upcoming weekend will continue on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21, with two, full days of competition at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The World of Outlaws doubleheader at the world famous half-mile will be headlined with the Morgan Cup on Saturday night, awarding a $12,000 top prize, as well as a $5,000 bonus. Dietrich has been a weekly competitor at “The Grove” in 2016, finishing fifth during his most recent start on Friday, May 13, during the “Outlaw Tune-Up.”
Although plans have not yet been finalized, the tentative outlook for Sunday, May 22, is to join the World of Outlaws at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, New York, for the Empire State Challenge. A decision regarding the New York road trip will be determined later in the week.
“We’ll make up our mind about Sunday after Williams Grove most likely,” explained Dietrich. “The goal is to run all four nights and be in the hunt to win on all four nights. I have a great group of guys who work harder than anyone I’ve ever been around. They deserve a big win this week so I’ll do everything I can to make that happen.”
