GETTYSBURG, Pa. (October 2, 2023) – Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing put together an impressive display Saturday evening in Williams Grove Speedway’s annual National Open finale, not only securing a top-ten result in the $75,000-to-win blockbuster, but doing so from a provisional starting position. The former Williams Grove Speedway track champion, and 2023 Diamond Series titleholder, started 27th on the 40-lap contest, driving forward to finish ninth at the final checkers. The display earned “Double-D” the evening’s Hard Charger Award for advancing the most feature positions.

Although unable to match the forward progress attained in the National Open finale, Dietrich did power forward in the National Open preliminary, eventually bumping ahead from 24th to finish 19th. The weekend opener was actually contested following the $75,000-to-win National Open finale, as Mother Nature made it impossible to complete on Friday evening.

“That was fun,” Danny Dietrich, ace of the Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, expressed. “We would have rather started closer to the front, but I’m proud of what we accomplished and we’ll use this as a great momentum push going forward.

“We have a big week ahead and it all starts tomorrow at Bridgeport,” Dietrich added. “We’re due for a win at one of these big shows.”

ON DECK:
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with a massive, four-day schedule in Pennsylvania Posse Country, first joining the High Limit Sprint Car Series at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, New Jersey, on Tuesday, October 3, followed by an All Star Circuit of Champions appearance at Port Royal for the $60,000-to-win Tuscarora 50 on Thursday, October 5. The week will conclude with Port Royal’s World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series sanctioned Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7.
