Pittsburgh, PA – 7/25/12} After a rather successful weekend in Central Pennsylvania with the World of Outlaws at Williams Grove Speedway – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native and All-Star Circuit of Champions ‘Ohio Region’ competitor, Danny Holtgraver, will take a step back from his busy racing schedule this weekend and race close to home at a very familiar Western Pennsylvania oval.

The Kargo Quality Cars and Trucks/Alternative Power Sources ‘D4’ team will be in action at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania this Friday night, July 27th, for the first time since the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. Holtgraver, who is a former Lernerville Speedway track champion and feature winner, is always excited to race close to home.

“We have been really busy the past few weeks” said Holtgraver about his recent racing schedule, “We will be at Lernerville this Friday so we can stay close to home and kind of get things ready for Knoxville…We are excited to get back to Lernerville Speedway, though…It’s our home track and all of our friends and family come to support us there…hopefully we can have a similar performance as last time!”

In Holtgraver’s most recent start at the Sarver 4/10’s mile oval, the Pittsburgh native rallied from a 19th place starting spot to finish 2nd in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series sanctioned Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup on Tuesday, July 17th. The seventeen position charge towards the front during the first of 2 – 30 lap A-mains was also enough to make Holtgraver the ‘KSE Hard Charger’ of the feature event. ‘Crew Chief’ and recent ‘D4’ team additive, Brian Kemenah, would help Holtgraver nearly repeat that dominating performance in the 2nd 30 lap A-main; charging from 19th to 10th in the running order. When the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup came to a close on Tuesday evening, July 17th, Holtgraver had passed 26 cars and had the highest average finish of the 45 teams signed in. This Friday night’s Lernerville Speedway program will feature all four of the speedway’s weekly divisions; including the ‘410’ sprint cars.

As far as Danny Holtgraver’s upcoming schedule is concerned for the next few weekends, nothing is set in stone. The recent All-Star Circuit of Champions winner looks to head back to Central Pennsylvania to pilot the Tom and Fran Chiappelli owned no. 98 as soon as this Saturday; but nothing is for certain. The only thing that is for certain is that the entire ‘D4’ team will be busy the next few weeks preparing for the 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals; the Daytona 500 of sprint car racing that boasts a $150,000-to-win/$9,500-to-start main event!

“Our racing schedule really isn’t set in stone for the next few weeks” explained Holtgraver, “We need to get things ready for the Knoxville Nationals…It’s the biggest sprint car race on the planet and being a part of that is really special…We want to go out there and represent our Western Pennsylvania competitors well!”

In most recent action, Danny Holtgraver qualified for a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series main event at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania during the annual Summer Nationals on Saturday, July 21st. Holtgraver would qualify for the evening’s World of Outlaws Dash after finishing second in his respective heat race. The Golden Flavor Sesame Sticks no. 98 would finish 9th in the evening’s Dash, putting Holtgraver on the inside of row number five for the $10,000-to-win main event. Unfortunately, Holtgraver’s night would end early due to mechanical failure while running inside the top 10 during the main event.
