Danny Holtgraver Earns First Victory of 2015
Grabs $4,000 “Putzy Kekich Memorial” Title

Pittsburgh, PA (August 12, 2015) – After a very frustrating first half of the year, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Danny Holtgraver may have finally reached the turning point. Holtgraver, pilot of the Phoenix Racing, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, DKW Transport, Auto Electric of Jupiter, Southern Pacific Farms, #59, “410” sprint car, earned his first victory of the 2015 season on Saturday evening, August 8; capturing the 2nd annual “Putzy Kekich Memorial” worth $4,000 at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The victory was not only the first of the year for Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing, but also the first since joining forces near the end of 2014. Holtgraver held off former Mercer Raceway Park track champion Eric Williams and former Lernerville Speedway track champion Brandon Spithaler during the “Putzy Kekich Memorial” main event.
“We had an off week on our schedule so we decided to race close to home” said Danny Holtgraver, “We’ve been having a tough year. To finally get a win feels amazing. I just want to thank everyone who has stood behind this entire season. It’s easy to get down on yourself and want to give up, but we didn’t. We kept moving forward and kept trying to find ways to get ourselves out of a rut. Our goal is to keep this going for the rest of the season.”
An upcoming schedule is still uncertain for Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing. Holtgraver has been an active member on the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions trail in 2015; currently eighth in the series standings. UNOH All Star competition will resume with action in Michigan and Ohio on Friday through Sunday, August 21-23.
