Pittsburgh, PA – Danny Holtgraver spent this past Friday and Saturday, April 6th and 7th,  at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio competing with the All-Star Circuit of Champions. Attica hosted the season’s first All-Star ‘Ohio Region’ event; attracting high car counts and a star-studded field for the $8,000 weekend. Teams from all across the country, including Kasey Kahne’s World of Outlaws stable, joined the All-Stars at the 3/8s mile bullring for the two-night “HD Supply Spring Nationals.” Holtgraver wasted no time working towards an ‘Ohio Region’ title, as the former Lernerville Speedway track champion qualified for the main event on both nights; posting a top 15 finish on each evening and leaving fifth in the ‘Ohio Region’ standings.

“We had a pretty good weekend at Attica” explained Holtgraver, “we qualified pretty decent and that helped set the tone for the entire weekend…we had some good runs in the features on both nights…had an awesome race with Kasey Kahne during the entire Saturday night feature…just a really good weekend to help build momentum for the entire year!”

On Friday night, April 6th, Holtgraver timed well enough during qualifying to put the Kargo Quality Cars and Trucks ‘D4’ on the poll of a heat race – which he won in dominate fashion. Holtgraver would go on to finish 13th in the main event after starting on the inside of row number eleven. Dale Blaney would capture the Friday night “HD Supply Spring Nationals” preliminary victory worth $3,000; Craig Mintz and Joey Saldana rounded out the podium finishers.

Friday night’s momentum helped Holtgraver earn a top ten finish during Saturday evening’s “HD Supply Spring Nationals” finale. A time of 12.585 seconds was good enough to put Holtgraver 12th in the overall qualifying order out of the 44 cars that took time. His heat race and feature results would match the positive tone that was set during qualifying, as Holtgraver finished 3rd in his respective heat race, and 10th in the “HD Supply Spring Nationals” A-main finale. Craig Mintz would be the $5,000 winner – with Stevie Smith and Greg Wilson rounding out the top three.

When the weekend wrapped up Saturday night, Holtgraver found himself ranked within the top five of the current All-Star Circuit of Champions ‘Ohio Region’ standings – just 21 points behind defending All-Star Circuit of Champions champion, Tim Shaffer. Stevie Smith, Dale Blaney, and Craig Mintz currently hold the top three positions in the ‘Ohio Region’ rankings.

The next couple weeks will be a little more ‘relaxing’ for the ‘D4′ pilot.  The Pittsburgh based operation plans to spend the next few weekends racing close to home. The team has intentions to race in western Pennsylvania the next two weekends, before heading back to central Pennsylvania for the All-Star Circuit of Champions’ Williams Grove Speedway/Port Royal Speedway/Clinton County Raceway swing on April 27th, 28th, and 29th.

“We will probably stick close to home the next few weekends” quoted Holtgraver about the upcoming schedule, “we would like to run Mercer Raceway Park a few times and perhaps the Lernerville Speedway opener…we want to stay local and hopefully build some momentum for our next roadtrip out east in a few weeks.”

Look for the Kargo Quality Cars and Trucks/Alternative Power Source/Fully Injected ‘D4’ to compete at Mercer Raceway Park and Lernerville Speedway in the coming weeks. Also, take the time to visit Danny’s hauler during racing events; 2012 merchandise is now available for purchase.
