Danny Holtgraver Ready for 2016 Knoxville Campaign
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
KNOXVILLE, IA (August 6, 2016) – With a break in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions schedule, “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver and Pete Grove’s Premier Motorsports operation will travel west and take on the best sprint car drivers and teams in the world for a shot at qualifying for the 56th annual 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores worth $150,000. Holtgraver, a two-time main event winner on the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions trail in 2016, plans to enter two separate events during his trip to the state of Iowa including the Capitani Classic on Sunday, August 7, and the Knoxville Nationals on August 10-13.
“This is the biggest weekend of the year for any sprint car team,” Danny Holtgraver said. “I think we are very capable of qualifying for the A-main next Saturday night. We have the equipment and we have the knowledge to make that happen. I have a great group of guys who work as hard as they can to keep us on track and in a position to win. I’m excited to get out there and see what we can do.”
Danny Holtgraver will enter his 2016 Knoxville Nationals campaign as a true contender for an A-main starting position on Saturday night, August 13. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native has been a full-time competitor on the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions trail, not only earning two main event victories, but also 16 top-ten finishes, 11 of which inside the top-five. Holtgraver owns Arctic Cat All Star victories at the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, as well as at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, during the $10,000-to-win Lou Blaney Memorial.
“I just want to thank my car owner, as well as my team for this opportunity,” Holtgraver explained. “Qualifying is so important with this deal. If we can go out during our qualifying lap and lay down a great lap, that will set the tone for the entire weekend. We’ll use the Capitani Classic as a test and tune day. We’ve actually been pretty successful during that event. It doesn’t hurt to build a little momentum.”
