Danny Holtgraver Scores Top Five During ‘Scott Darley Challenge’
Presidents Cup Next at Avalon Raceway on January 21st

AUSTRALIA (January 18th, 2015) – Danny Holtgraver of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania earned his fifth top-ten finish of his 2014/2015 Australian campaign on Saturday evening, January 17th at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway near Sydney, Australia. Holtgraver, who pilots the Reeve Kruck owned, Titan Garages and Carports, Titan Steel Buildings, Australian Roller Doors, no. Q36 sprinter, finished fourth after starting sixteenth in the 40-lap ‘Scott Darley Challenge’ finale at Valvoline. The fourth place performance is now Holtgraver’s top accomplishment in Australia thus far. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion has now finished inside the top-five twice while ‘Down Under.’
“What a night…this feels great!” explained Danny Holtgraver, “To come out here with this group of cars and rally for a top-five feels incredible…we had a tough night on Friday, but we put that all behind us on Saturday…this entire team works really hard and keeps moving forward not matter the outcome….I can’t thank Reeve Kruck enough for this opportunity…my crew chief Bingo Jenkins has been great to work with…hopefully we can keep this momentum rolling into next week.”
Danny Holtgraver kicked off the ‘Scott Darley Challenge’ finale by recording the 22nd fastest time of the night during qualifying time trials. The Pittsburgh native would rally from fifth to second during heat race competition; locking the Titan Garages and Carports ‘Q36’ team into the 40-lap main event. After starting 16th, Danny Holtgraver would climb twelve positions and solidify himself inside the top-five. Trevor Green was the main event winner; earning $19,000 for his accomplishment. There were 74 cars signed in for competition.
“We timed well during qualifying and that really helped set the tone for the rest of the night” said Holtgraver, “After not making the show on Friday night during the preliminary, we knew what we had to do…we moved forward all night; during our heat race and main event…feels good to get things clicking and have a little bit of momentum on our side…we have a busy week next week…anxious to get things started!”
The Titan Garages and Carports team will be in action for five straight days next week; beginning Wednesday, January 21st with the ‘Presidents Cup’ at Avalon Raceway in Lara, Victoria, Australia. Holtgraver will visit the Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier for the Kings Challenge on Thursday, January 22nd; all before spending Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 23rd, 24th & 25th at the Premier Speedway in Warrnambool for the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.
