Bubba, Volusia and East Bay All On Tap During Florida ‘Speedweeks’

Pittsburgh, PA (February 4th, 2015) – After spending nearly two months out of the country racing in Australia for car owner Reeve Kruck, Danny Holtgraver is finally home, but not for long. In fact, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native is already in Florida; preparing for his first few weeks of competition in the United States since ending his 2014 campaign at The Dirt Track at Charlotte last November. Holtgraver will spend nearly an entire month in Florida this February; driving for Phoenix Racing while competing with the All Star Circuit of Champions, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the ASCS National Tour.
“Feels good to be home” said Danny Holtgraver, “I was actually only home for one night, then I was back on a plane to come to Florida…we are ready to get the season started…Phoenix Racing has been hard at work all winter getting things prepared while I have been gone…we have a very busy schedule ahead of us in February…hopefully we can get things moving in the right direction right from the start…I can’t thank Tom and Sherry Leidig enough for this opportunity…we have a lot of great sponsors and supporters on board with this team…I am more than excited to be a part of it.”
Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing will kick-off their 2015 campaign at the Bubba Raceway Park near Ocala, Florida; joining the All Star Circuit of Champions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 5th, 6th & 7th for the ‘Bubba Army Winternationals.’
After spending a long weekend in Ocala, Holtgraver will travel east to Barberville, Florida where he will compete for five straight nights at the Volusia Speedway Park during the 2015 ‘DIRTcar Nationals.’ Action at Volusia Speedway Park will begin with two nights of All Star Circuit of Champions competition on Wednesday and Thursday, February 11th & 12th; followed by three straight nights of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 13th, 14th & 15th.
Holtgraver, who will pilot the Phoenix Racing, Auto Electric of Jupiter, Florida, Southern Pacific Farms, no. 59 sprint car during his entire 2015 campaign, will end his 2015 Florida visit with back-to-back weekends of ASCS National Tour ‘360’ sprint car competition. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion will begin ‘360’ action with a visit to the East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, Florida for the ‘Ronald Laney Memorial’ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 19th, 20th & 21st. Holtgraver is a former ‘Ronald Laney Memorial – King of the 360’s’ champion at East Bay Raceway Park; earning the $10,000 payday in 2013.
The Bubba Raceway Park near Ocala, Florida will welcome back Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing on Friday and Saturday, February 27th & 28th. The ASCS National Tour ‘360’ sprints will sanction back-to-back programs at Bubba Raceway Park. The second consecutive weekend of ‘360’ sprint car competition will end Holtgraver’s 2015 Florida ‘speedweeks’ campaign.
“A February schedule like we have will definitely set the tone for the entire year” explained Holtgraver, “We’ll head into Ocala with a positive attitude and work as hard as we can…If anything, I am much more confident than last year or the year before…getting to race for almost two months in Australia allowed me to gain more seat time and experience…we shall see soon enough.”
