Pittsburgh, PA (September 23rd, 2014) – Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (P.P.M.S.) will host the Renegade Sprint Series for the first time in their short history this Saturday night, September 27th; headlined with the region’s finest ‘410’ sprint car pilots battling for a $5,000 pay day. Danny Holtgraver, who pilots the Hunter Racing, Berlin Natural Bakery, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, Alternative Power Sources, WestView Motors, DKW Transport, no. 10H ‘410’ sprint car, will be in action with the Renegades at ‘Dirt’s Monster Half Mile’ on September 27th, attempting to make history and earn a career-first Renegade Sprint Series victory. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native is a recent ‘P.P.M.S.’ winner during ‘410’ sprint car competition, and will work towards season win number eight this Saturday night at the Imperial, Pennsylvania half-mile.
“Pittsburgh (P.P.M.S.) is one of my favorites tracks…always excited to get back there” explained Danny Holtgraver, “The Renegade Sprint Series has been working hard to put their new series on the map…they have some great people behind it and a great roster of drivers committed to following it…having one of their shows in western Pennsylvania opens them up to a whole new area to promote in…hopefully in the future we can have more of their races in the area…we’ve been on a pretty good stretch lately with some great finishes…we plan to keep that going this Saturday at Pittsburgh!”
The inaugural Renegade Sprint Series ‘Steel City Sprint Monster’ at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will take shape on Saturday evening, September 27th; beginning with qualifying time trials at 5:00PM. During recent ‘410’ sprint car competition, Danny Holtgraver earned back-to-back top-twelve finishes with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series at two different area venues. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion finished 12th during A-main action with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ last Friday evening, September 19th at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio; during Night #1 of the 2014 ‘4-Crown Nationals.’ Holtgraver would return to action with The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series on Saturday evening, September 20th at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania; where he finished 5th during the 35-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. Joey Saldana swept the ‘Outlaw’ weekend.
“We had a great weekend…it’s been a great last few weeks” said Danny Holtgraver, “To race with those guys (Outlaws) and earn good finishes consistently says a lot about this team…everyone works hard and always stays motivated…can’t thank my car owner enough, Rob Hunter, for this opportunity…the crew; My Dad, Pup, Earl, Sandy, Josh…the list goes on and on but regardless, they are the ones who make our success possible…hopefully this weekend I can go down to ‘P.P.M.S.’ and earn those guys another victory.”
