“The boy will fill up the Gatorade cooler, walk the dog, and paint your back porch” – Daryn Pittman can just plain drive a sprint car! He proved that again this weekend; sweeping both events at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park, against the All Star Circuit of Champions, over the weekend. Pittman, a native of Owasso, Oklahoma, is now the winner of 3 events in a two weekend span; including a victory against the Outlaws at Williams Grove Speedway last Friday evening. Daryn and the Heffner 27 team will take a few evenings off before staring their second consecutive Keystone Cup quest. The six race Pennsylvania mini series kicks off Wednesday at Grandview Speedway and ends Memorial Day at Big Diamond. Daryn was the 2010 Keystone Cup Champion.

Donny Schatz rolled to a victory Friday night at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. He dominated the A-Main, holding off charges by Craig Dollansky and Tim Shaffer, who started 20th, to capture his first win of 2011. Paul McMahan was the evening’s fastest qualifier. Joey Saldana still holds the point lead after finishing 11th on Friday night. The Outlaws would fail to get last night’s event at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan in the books. The race was rescheduled for Memorial Day.

Team Fully Injected had an interesting and successful weekend. Once again, Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania proved to be a comfortable place for the FI boys to compete. Danny Holtgraver and Brandon Matus would both earn top fives on Friday evening. Brandon “Wheelman”  Matus would earn a front row staring position, next to eventual winner Daryn Pittman, and hold on for 2nd consecutive top five finish at the Sarver, PA 4/10’s mile; crossing the line 5th. Danny Holtgraver, also continuing a streak of solid Lernerville performances,  would earn yet another podium finish on Friday night- rallying to a 3rd place performance behind Ellenberger and Pittman. Holtgraver continued that success on Saturday night at the Mercer Raceway Park against the traveling All Star gang – finishing a solid 8th after coming through the B-Main. The Pittsburgh native will be at Lernerville again next Friday before heading to Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio for a weekend against the All Star Circuit of Champions.

New  FI teammate, Kevin Schaeffer, would finish a solid 6th on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway. The three time Lernerville Track Champion would hold off Andy McKisson, Carl Bowser, Gary Rankin, and Brent Matus; who finished behind Kevin 7th through 10th respectively in that order. Veteran racer, Rod George, continues to try and shake the 2011 bad luck bug. He would attempt to do so Friday night by winning a heat race -only before breaking a torsion stop in the feature, ending his night early. The Kittanning native would try again to turn that 2011 bad luck around on Saturday night at Mercer Raceway Park – picking up another heat race win against the All Star Circuit of Champions and earning a spot in the evening’s feature event. Rod would finish and come home 13th.

USAC action saw Chris Windom pick up the victory Friday night at the Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Indiana. The Amsoil USAC National Sprint Series have one more event in the state of Indiana, that being at Terre Haute, before heading east for the Eastern Storm that kicks off Memorial Day at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Levi Jones is the current point leader. 41 sprinters signed in for the Bloomington Speedway event on Friday night.

Zach Daum was the winner of the Hut Hundred last night at the Tri-State Speedway in Indiana. This was Daum’s first USAC National Midget Series win. Tracy Hines would finish second after leading 62 of the 100 laps.

The King of California Series would see Andy Gregg in victory lane at the Santa Maria Speedway last night. He would hold off Tim Kaeding, Jonathon Allard, Evan Suggs, and Brent Kaeding. Bud Kaeding, Tim’s brother, was not in KWS action last night; as he would take a victory at an ASCS regional event at Kings Speedway in California.
