GETTYSBURG, Pa. (June 10, 2019) – Danny Dietrich’s weekend was nearly flawless. Not only did the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native successfully enter five main events in four days, but the current Central Pennsylvania sprint car point leader attained five top-ten finishes in the process, three of which on the podium.
Saving the best outcome for last, of course, Dietrich highlighted the weekend with an All Star Circuit of Champions victory at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., on Sunday, June 9.
In addition to his $5,000 All Star Circuit of Champions triumph, the first of 2019 and the result of an impressive rally from row four, ‘Double-D’ finished seventh at BAPS Motor Speedway on Thursday, June 6; second at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, June 7, where Dietrich is currently leading the championship standings; and sixth and second, respectively, during Port Royal Speedway’s Twin 20s program on Saturday, June 8.
Including his All Star victory in the Empire State, Danny Dietrich now owns eight victories across three states in 2019, just two victories shy of reaching his 2018 win total equalling ten.
“It was a wild weekend, but I owe all of my successes to the guys standing behind me,” Danny Dietrich said of his team, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “They work their tails off and it shows. It feels great to be in this position, but I certainly wouldn’t be here without those guys.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will now prepare for an intense week of travel that will include not only stops in Central Pennsylvania, but also a handful of Ohio Sprint Speedweek appearances with the All Star Circuit of Champions.
Tentatively, Dietrich’s upcoming plan consists of action at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, June 14, followed by five or six straight nights of Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition before returning home to Pennsylvania.
Speedweek dates that stand as certain on Dietrich’s schedule include Muskingum County Speedway on Sunday, Wayne County Speedway on Monday, Sharon Speedway on Tuesday, Atomic Speedway on Wednesday, and Mansfield Motor Speedway on Thursday. The plan for Saturday, June 15, has yet to be determined.
