GETTYSBURG, Pa. (September 23, 2024) – The last minute decision to venture west following BAPS Motor Speedway’s cancellation proved beneficial for Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing, not only padding the stat book with another top-five appearance, but locking down a podium in the process, doing so in Sharon Speedway’s Lou Blaney Memorial on Saturday, September 21.

Dietrich, ace of Gary Kauffman’s well-known Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Derek Snyder & Self Made Racing, York Excavating, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, No. 48 sprint car, finished second in his Lou Blaney Memorial outcome, finishing just behind hometown ace, Dave Blaney. “Double-D” did everything he could to get by the former World of Outlaws champion, but Blaney proved to be just a touch too strong, shutting the door on Dietrich as the pair battled off of four to the checkers.

The final margin of victory was less than a second.

“Hell of a race with Dave Blaney. I was doing everything I could without crashing us…just a great effort by our whole team,” Dietrich, who earned $4,000 for second, said. “Hats off to him, and hats off to Sharon Speedway. We love racing there and it worked out perfect with BAPS [Motor Speedway] canceling so early in the day. I wish we could get there more often.”

Just one night prior, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing finished fifth at Williams Grove Speedway – a second consecutive top-five after winning the Billy Kimmel Memorial the week before.
