Dietrich earns ninth win of year during Lincoln make-up feature; WoO invasion ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (July 16, 2018) – A near-perfect way to prepare for World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competition, “Double-D” went two-for-three in the top-five column during the recent weekend, highlighting his stretch of action with a victory at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, July 14. The victory, occurring during the June 23 makeup feature, was worth $5,000 for the Gettysburg native, bumping his overall season win total to nine, five of which in the Pigeon Hills.

Impressive enough, Dietrich earned his trip to victory lane from row six, climbing ahead from 11th on the feature grid to take command officially on lap 21 of 33.

Unfortunately, Dietrich was unable to repeat success at Lincoln Speedway during the regularly scheduled main event. Contact with the outside retaining wall sent Dietrich for a wild ride; he walked away unharmed, but the car was destroyed.

Dietrich kicked-off his weekend in Central Pennsylvania with a fourth place finish during the Outlaw Tune-up at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 13. Including the recent pair, Dietrich’s top-five count is now at 23 on the season.

“You take the bad with the good and move forward,” Dietrich explained, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Gsell’s Whitetails/Hickory Run Orchards/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “Hats off to this entire team. We’ve been on a roll, especially at Lincoln Speedway. I think we have a lot of momentum on our side heading into a big weekend like we have coming up. People really pay attention when the Outlaws come to town. Hopefully we can give our fans something to look at.”

Danny Dietrich will join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during visits to Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway on Thursday through Saturday, July 19-21. Lincoln Speedway will host the rescheduled Gettysburg Clash on Thursday evening, followed by the Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway the following two nights. The Williams Grove Summer Nationals will award a $20,000 payday during the weekend finale, kicking things off with the Morgan Cup on Friday night awarding a grand total of $13,000; $8,000-to-win plus a $5,000 Morgan Cup bonus.
