Dietrich Earns Susquehanna Win, Ready to Challenge Outlaws during Williams Grove Summer Nationals
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, PA. (July 18, 2016) – In typical, busy fashion, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich entered three events in three days during the recent weekend, ultimately scoring three consecutive top-five performances against the “Pennsylvania Posse,” steadily improving his results as the weekend progressed.
The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native kicked off his top-ten streak by finishing fifth during the World of Outlaws tune-up at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 15, followed by a charge from 12th to finish third at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, July 16. The three-race weekend was highlighted with a victory at Susquehanna Speedway on Sunday night, July 17, outdueling Lance Dewease during the closing circuits to secure his spot in victory lane. The win, Dietrich’s fifth of the 2016 season, was his first of the year at Susquehanna’s newly improved facility.
“I think we are finally hitting our stride. We are in a good place right now and I’m happy for the team,” Dietrich explained. “We built a brand new car over the weekend and that turned out to be a great decision. My team did a fantastic job getting everything put together. I have the best crew in the pit area. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their help. I’m excited to get back at it this weekend when the Outlaws come to town.”
With momentum now a positive factor, Danny Dietrich and his Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, No. 48 operation will now begin preparations for the annual Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Saturday, July 22-23. The two-day program, featuring the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, will feature two, complete programs for the “Pennsylvania Posse” and Outlaw invaders, awarding $8,000 on Friday evening and $20,000 on Saturday evening. The Morgan Cup, awarded to the main event winner during Saturday night’s program, will come hand in hand with a $5,000 bonus, raising the overall weekend stakes to $33,000.
Danny Dietrich is the defending winner of the Friday night portion of the Summer Nationals, eventually finishing 11th during the weekend finale. “Double-D” will enter Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals competition as the current Williams Grove Speedway driver championship point leader.
“I feel like we are in a position to make a lot of noise this weekend,” said Dietrich. “Our goal is to go out there and win them both. We won one last year, so we’ll try to step it up a little bit and do even better. I want to thank my car owner Gary Kauffman for the opportunity. I also want to thank all of my fans for their continuing support. The year is starting to pick up. We’ll do what we can to keep the Outlaws out of victory lane.”
