GETTYSBURG, Pa. (April 29, 2019) – Although not resulting in a trip to victory lane, Danny Dietrich’s visit to the Port Royal ‘Speed Palace’ on Saturday, April 27, did result in a top-ten performance; his 11th of the season and his fifth at Port Royal Speedway. ‘Double-D’ finished fourth, officially, during his trip to the Juniata County Fairgrounds half-mile, advancing one position after starting from the inside of row three.

Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car, earned his third row starting position by way of heat race passing points; Dietrich finished fourth during his respective heat.

“I think we were good on Saturday, just not quite where we needed to be to contend for a win,” Danny Dietrich said, who owns one victory at Port Royal Speedway in 2019. “Hats off to my entire team. They work hard and it clearly shows. We have a ton of momentum on our side. Hopefully we can put that to good use this weekend when we race, hopefully, three times.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2019 campaign with a trio of starts in the Keystone State, first visiting Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 3.

From there, Dietrich will travel north for a return to the ‘Speed Palace,’ followed by a Sunday night stop at BAPS Motor Speedway on May 5. If weather should intervene, Dietrich’s back-up plan includes visiting Lernerville Speedway on Friday, followed by a stop at Sharon Speedway on Saturday, each hosting All Star Circuit of Champions competition.

From this point forward, fans should expect to see Dietrich at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on a regular basis. The Gettysburg-native plans to hunt for track titles at each of the Central Pennsylvania landmarks, a feat Dietrich has yet to accomplish. Currently, ‘Double-D’ is seventh in the Port Royal Speedway standings after missing the first event on the 2019 points schedule. Despite his deficit at the ‘Speed Palace,’ Dietrich is in command of the Williams Grove Speedway standings by 90 markers.

Although Dietrich will aim close to home for the remainder of the 2019 season, the former Lincoln Speedway champion still plans to make the annual trek to Knoxville Raceway for the coveted Knoxville Nationals.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to race for two track championships,” Danny Dietrich added. “Of course, things could change; one bad night could throw those plans out the window. We’ll take things week by week and see what happens.”
