Dietrich Earns Two Top-Fives Against Outlaws, New Egypt Next!
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 23, 2016) – Danny Dietrich joined the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on three separate occasions during the recent weekend, racing at three different facilities in two states, all of which over the course of four days. When the weekend dust settled, the Gettysburg native scored two consecutive top-five finishes against the “Greatest Show On Dirt,” beginning with a runner-up performance at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown on Thursday, May 19.
Dietrich scored his second top-five result of the weekend on Friday evening, May 20, at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, crossing under the final checkers fifth in the running order. The Gettysburg native drove forward from row five, transferring to the main event with a third place finish during his respective heat race.
Action at the Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, New York, concluded Dietrich’s recent swing with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, finishing 13th after starting 11th.
“We had a pretty awesome weekend for the most part,” explained Danny Dietrich. “We had two really solid finishes. Feels good to race that well against the Outlaws. I think we may have had something for Donny Schatz on Thursday at Lincoln, just kinda ran out of time. Regardless, I owe it all to my team. They allow for results like this. I have a great car owner and a great group of guys who dedicate a lot of time to keep me on the race track. We’re excited for the upcoming week and weekend.”
With little time to spare, Danny Dietrich will resume his 2016 campaign on Tuesday evening, May 24, at the New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, New Jersey. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will headline competition at the “Garden State” venue, allowing Dietrich one more opportunity to score a fourth career victory with the national travelers. “Double-D” finished 15th at New Egypt in 2015.
Memorial Day weekend will feature four nights of action for the Gary Kauffman Racing entry, comprised of four, complete programs at two different Central Pennsylvania facilities.
A visit to the Williams Grove Speedway will ignite the long, holiday weekend on Friday evening, May 27, followed by the Bob Weikert Memorial Sprint Car Spectacular at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday through Monday, May 28-30. High dollar paydays will be on the line during the entire weekend, with $4,000 up for grabs at Williams Grove Speedway, and a grand total of $20,000 being the potential at Port Royal Speedway. In addition, the Bob Weikert Memorial will award a separate point fund.
“We’ve been looking forward to these events for a long time,” explained Dietrich. “We love the multi-day atmosphere. Gives fans something extra to look forward to and it creates a lot of hype. The event at Port Royal is extra special for us. We can’t wait to get there.”
