Dietrich Earns Victory and Three Additional Top-Tens During Labor Day Weekend, Tuscarora 50 Weekend Begins Friday
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, PA (September 6, 2016) – Labor Day weekend stands true as one of the busiest weekends of the season for Central Pennsylvania sprint car competitors, and that was certainly the case for Danny Dietrich. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native made four starts during the long, holiday weekend, scoring four consecutive top-ten finishes including two on the podium, one of which resulting in a victory. Dietrich, now a seven-time winner during main event competition in 2016, will look to transition his momentum into the upcoming weekend, ready to revisit Port Royal Speedway for Tuscarora 50 weekend.
“Labor Day weekend was a big weekend for us, especially to end it with a victory,” Dietrich explained. “Can’t thank the entire team enough for their hard work all weekend. They’ve worked hard all year, but to race four nights in a row at two pretty demanding race tracks can take a toll. We still have a lot of racing left on our schedule. I want to move forward and bring this momentum with us.”
Dietrich visited Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway during Labor Day weekend, making the trip to each facility twice. “Double-D” finished eighth and ninth at Williams Grove Speedway, respectively; eighth during the Gary Beam Tribute on Friday, September 2, and ninth during the Billy Kimmel Memorial on Sunday, September 4.
Two Port Royal Speedway visits resulted in two podium finishes for the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, No. 48 entry during the holiday weekend, including a victory on Monday afternoon, September 5, during the 65th annual Labor Day Classic worth $4,000; Dietrich’s second Labor Day Classic win in three years.
“Our goal was to get a win at Port Royal this weekend. I’m glad we could get that to happen,” Dietrich said. “The timing was just right with the Tuscarora 50 coming up this weekend. That would be the perfect opportunity to get another win.”
Tuscarora 50 weekend featuring the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions stands next on Danny Dietrich’s 2016 campaign, complete with back-to-back programs at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, this Friday and Saturday, headlined with the 50-lap, $12,000-to-win, Tuscarora 50 finale on Saturday night, September 10. Dietrich will enter the weekend with eight prior starts against the Arctic Cat All Stars in 2016, resulting in two victories and four top-ten finishes.
Tuscarora 50 weekend will ignite officially with the Night Before The Tuscarora 50 on Friday night, September 9, worth $5,000.
