GETTYSBURG, Pa. (June 24, 2019) – It was quite the nine-day campaign for Gettysburg, Pennsylvania’s Danny Dietrich, not only entering action on home dirt in Central Pennsylvania, but also making the trip to the Buckeye State to join the All Star Circuit of Champions during Ohio Sprint Speedweek.
With Mother Nature causing some issues along the way, Dietrich ended his nine-day campaign with six main event starts, two of which resulting in victories. ‘Double-D’ secured wins at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, June 15, as well as at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, June 21. The pair of wins bumped Dietrich’s season win total to ten, officially equalling his 2018 win total.
In addition to his victories, Dietrich secured two other top-five performances in the Keystone State, kicking off his nine-day schedule with an impressive charge from 15th to finish fifth at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, June 14. Nearly capping the long stretch with another mark in the win column, Dietrich finished second during action at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, June 22.
Between his starts in Central Pennsylvania, Dietrich joined Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions during visits to Muskingum County Speedway on June 16, as well as Wayne County Speedway on June 19. Although resulting in finishes outside of the top-ten, Dietrich was competitive on foreign territory, securing an 11th place finish at Muskingum, followed by a 13th place finish at Wayne County Speedway.
“It was a long week, but I wish it could have been longer. The weather really screwed up some of our plans in Ohio,” Danny Dietrich explained, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “Regardless, I’m proud of this team and what we were able to accomplish during the last two weekends. My guys really do bust their tails. As much as rain outs hurt, it was nice to enjoy some time with the guys out on the road. We have a long week ahead, so maybe a day off here and there wasn’t so bad.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will set aim for Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek; a nine-race schedule that kicks off officially on Friday, June 28, at Williams Grove Speedway. Extending through July 6, Dietrich will enter nine consecutive events, each of which awarding a minimum top prize equalling $5,000. Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek will visit Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, Selinsgrove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, Grandview Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, and Port Royal Speedway in consecutive fashion.
