GETTYSBURG, Pa. (March 8, 2021) – Despite his weekend getting cut from two races to one, losing the Port Royal Speedway opener on Sunday, March 7, due to cold temperatures, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich made the most of his weekend in the Keystone State and returned to the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown for another afternoon program on Saturday, March 6.

Out for redemption after surrendering early one weekend prior, Dietrich was undeterred by his eventual eighth row starting position and charged forward in a hurry, ultimately battling ahead to finish sixth from 15th while securing the afternoon’s hard charger award for advancing the most feature positions.

A similar surface to that of the Icebreaker, the former Lincoln Speedway track champion was forced to complete his hard charge on a quick and tacky surface.

“We wanted to make the best of our starting position. If track conditions were a little different, I think we were good enough to get ourselves higher through the field. These early season shows can be tricky,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car. “I just want to thank all of the fans for coming out and supporting these shows in the cold. If it wasn’t for the fans, we wouldn’t be able to do what we’re doing, and as often as we do it. Hopefully we can get ourselves a little closer to the front next weekend and get that first win of the year.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with another stint in Pennsylvania Posse country. Initial plans suggest that Dietrich will be returning to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, March 13, followed by the Williams Grove Speedway season opener on Sunday, March 14. The 25-lap lidlifter at The Grove will award a $5,500 payday.
