Double-D claims Dean Knittel Memorial, Ohio Speedweek title; PA Speedweek launches Friday

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (June 23, 2025) – Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing are the kings of Ohio, in some respect, not only earning Atomic Speedway’s coveted Dean Knittel Memorial to close out the 2025 edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek on June 21, but the $26,554 victory clinched the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, ace the overall Ohio Sprint Speedweek title, earning another $10,000 for said feat – the first of Dietrich’s storied open wheel career.

After some early week interference from Mother Nature, Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Speedway Volkswagen & Subaru, Self Made Racing, York Excavating, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, RV 4 Wheel Drive & Performance, C&M Motorsports, Drop of Ink Tattoo, RLR Trucking, Blud Lubricants, No. 48 sprint car, raced on to earn four top-fives in the six events contested with each of the top-fives ending on the podium; third at Wayne County Speedway, second at Waynesfield Raceway Park, third at Moler Raceway Park, and first at Atomic Speedway – the aforementioned Dean Knittel Memorial.

In addition, “Double-D” finished 13th at Millstream Speedway and sixth at Eldora Speedway. Dietrich’s Eldora outcome was the result of a ten-spot charge from 16th, earning the evening’s Hard Charger Award.

“Just a total-team effort…can’t say enough about everyone at Gary Kauffman Racing, especially Gary who allowed us the opportunity to go out and race. Ohio Speedweek is always on our list, so to finally earn a Speedweek championship is pretty special,” Danny Dietrich said. “The only thing we can do now is go out and work toward a Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek championship. To earn both titles in one year would be nothing short of incredible.”
