BLUE COLLAR BASH QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED
Highly Anticipated 16-Division Race Meet Invades October 26-27-28
ROSSBURG, OH (Sept. 28) – One of the most frequently asked questions since the 2012 Eldora schedule was released has now been answered with the release of the entry form and details surrounding the Blue Collar Bash (BCB). The inaugural event that showcases the ‘weekly’ racer will be contested on Eldora’s legendary .500-mile clay oval over the weekend of October 26-27-28.
The Blue Collar Bash will afford many racers, and many divisions, their first opportunity to compete at Eldora in an event that focuses on fun, laps, opportunity and affordability at a time of year that allows a wide variety of geographical representation.
Sixteen different divisions ranging from entry-level Sport Compacts to regional Street Stocks to midwest Sportsman stock cars to Crate Late Models to the Tobias SpeedSTRs to Eldora stalwarts UMP DIRTcar Late Models and Modifieds to four different kinds of Sprint Cars (Mini, 305, non-winged, 410 winged) will be on the aggressive card. Complete class specifications and time schedules are detailed on the BCB entry form, which is downloadable at http://www.eldoraspeedway.com/races/schedule/blue-collar-bash/class-info/. Eldora’s minimum driving age of 16, along with a 14-year-old minimum age for pit pass purchasing will continue to apply for the event.
The initial BCB, the first of its kind at Eldora, has specifications designed to attract race teams from many different areas. After this year’s running, Eldora Speedway officials will evaluate the date, divisions, technical specifications, etc; using feedback from the fans and competitors going forward; in hopes of making the BCB an annual event.
The facility will swing open on Friday evening (October 26) with an optional four-hour practice session. Saturday will see preliminary heat races for nine of the scheduled classes, along with a full program for the UMP DIRTcar Late Models, BOSS non-winged Sprints and Legends. A post-race party will conclude Saturday’s agenda. On tap for Sunday will be the B and A-Features for Saturday’s heat race divisions, in addition to a full program for winged Sprint Cars, UMP DIRTcar Modifieds, Eldora Stock Cars and ‘declare home track’ Stock Cars.
A pill draw system will be used to line-up all heat races and a time schedule that takes into consideration the seasonal weather has been crafted.
Camping on the Eldora grounds will be free, as will general admission for kids under 12, all weekend. Saturday/Sunday combo tickets, which can be redeemed to include pit access, are just $30 when purchased in advance. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.EldoraSpeedway.com or by calling the track office at (937) 338-3815.
