KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 1, 2024) – It was a hard-fought week in the Show-Me State for Cory Eliason and Ridge & Sons Racing, and despite missing the top-ten in each of their High Limit Racing starts at Lake Ozark Speedway and Lucas Oil Speedway, there were plenty of shining moments, one of which an impressive rally in Lucas Oil Speedway’s Diamond Classic opener on Friday, June 28.
Eliason, ace of Brian and Lisa Ridge’s Commercial Edge, NDT New Direction Transport LLC, Ridge Development, North Ridge Development, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, B And L Holdings, Xpress Laundry, No. 8 sprint car, finished 12th in the aforementioned Diamond Classic start, commencing main event competition from 26th on the main event grid. Although “Hard Charger” worthy, the Visalia, California, native just missed achieving the nightly award, as Chris Windom was able to advance 15 spots in the same main event.
Just two nights prior in Lake Ozark Speedway’s annual Beach Brawl, Eliason finished 13th, maintaining his mid-pack presence after lining up five spots better.
Saturday’s Diamond Classic finale was eventually canceled due to Mother Nature.
“Not the success we were looking for, but the highs definitely outweighed the lows and we’ll move into our July schedule relatively satisfied,” Eliason explained. “The schedule only gets bigger and better from here, so we’ll head into July with our heads up and we’ll keep working toward that next win.”
