KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 5, 2024) – Visalia, California’s Cory Eliason and Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR) put it all together in Knoxville Raceway’s annual 360 Knoxville Nationals, not only securing back-to-back top-five appearances in Friday’s preliminary as well as Saturday’s finale, but ultimately highlighting the three-day showcase with a podium, doing so in Friday’s preliminary A-Main.
Eliason, driver of Brian and Lisa Ridge’s Commercial Edge, NDT New Direction Transport LLC, Ridge Development, North Ridge Development, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, B And L Holdings, No. 8 sprint car, finished second in his preliminary outing, commencing action from the outside of row two. A rally from fifth to third during heat race competition set the tone for his eventual feature performance.
Eliason and RSR raced on to finish fifth in the 360 Knoxville Nationals finale; they started third.
“Overall, happy with our 360 Knoxville Nationals effort. We were strong both nights out and that’s really motivating heading into the Nationals this weekend,” Eliason stated. “Can’t thank Brian and Lisa Ridge enough for this opportunity. This is a home game for us in some respect, and I couldn’t be more excited to be here. This is the place where everyone wants to win, and like everyone else, that’s our goal.”
Unfortunately, Eliason’s effort in the Capitani Classic on Sunday, August 4, was shy of his 360 Knoxville Nationals campaign, capping the weekend-ending showstopper in the evening’s B-Main.
Cory Eliason and Ridge & Sons Racing will continue their busy stretch in the Hawkeye State with another full week of competition, continuing on with Southern Iowa Speedway’s Front Row Challenge on Monday, August 5, followed by the coveted Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway on Wednesday through Saturday, August 7-10.
