KNOXVILLE, Iowa (March 25, 2024) – It took just two starts for Cory Eliason and crew chief Jim Shuttlesworth to find victory lane, scoring their first triumph of the 2024 season at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, March 24. The win, worth $5,000 to the Knoxville, Iowa-based Ridge & Sons Racing outfit, was accomplished in fantastic fashion, barely outrunning Troy Wagaman Jr. in a drag race to the finish – the final margin of victory was 0.040 seconds.

A caution with two laps remaining helped create the aforementioned photo finish. Eliason led barely at the white, but a move by Wagaman down the backstretch gave him a run to the inside. The pair raced side-by-side off of turn four.

Eliason started fifth on the 30-lap grid.

“It feels great to finally get that first win with RSR. We’ve been working so hard, so for that hard work to finally pay off is really satisfying,” Eliason, driver of Brian and Lisa Ridge’s Commercial Edge, NDT New Direction Transport LLC, Ridge Development, North Ridge Development, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, B And L Holdings, No. 8 sprint car, said. “Jim [Shuttlesworth] and I connected rather quickly, and that showed Friday at Williams Grove. The plan is to spend another weekend in Pennsylvania and continue to build that connection.”

Eliason’s weekend ended on a high note, but it commenced on a high note, as well, launching his trip to Pennsylvania Posse Country with a podium score, finishing third, officially, at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday, March 22.

“Can’t thank Brian and Lisa Ridge enough for this opportunity,” Eliason continued. “I’m confident this is just the first of many wins this season. Things are clicking and we’re excited about it.”
