KNOXVILLE, Iowa (September 9, 2024) – Cory Eliason and Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR) made the most of their three-day effort at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace,” and although the Visalia, California, native was unable to attain a top-ten in the weekend’s coveted 50-lapper, the shining moments were plenty, highlighting all attempts with a top-ten performance in Friday’s Night Before The Tuscarora 50. The top-ten was Eliason’s 29th of the season for RSR, finishing seventh officially after starting in the exact same position.
Earning his way in the hard way, Eliason eventually capped his weekend in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, with a 17th-place score in the $57,000-to-win Tuscarora 50 finale on Saturday, September 7. It was a B-Main transfer position that secured his place in the weekend showstopper, racing on to finish second from the pole position.
“Definitely one of the toughest weekends of the year. I think we wanted a little bit more out of the 50-lapper on Saturday, but we did the best we could despite the challenges,” Eliason, driver of the Commercial Edge, NDT New Direction Transport LLC, Ridge Development, North Ridge Development, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, No. 8 sprint car, said. “Excited to get back to Lernerville and see what we can do. We were a top-five car in the Silver Cup earlier this year, so there’s no reason why we can’t do that again.”
