Lernerville Speedway witnessed local western Pennsylvania hotshoe, Carl Bowser, pick up his third sprint car victory of the year at the Sarver, PA half-mile. Fully Injected representative and supporter, Kevin Schaeffer, found himself on the podium at the conclusion of the evening by finishing 3rd in the sprint car 25 lap main event. Fellow Kittanning native and fellow Fully Injected Teammate, Rod George, rallied from an early spin to finish 5th. Brandon Matus, last week’s Lernerville Speedway sprint car winner, was also involved in that early accident. He would rally from 17th to finish sixth. Schaeffer has been struggling with tough breaks and bad luck for much of the 2011 season; perhaps tonight’s podium finish could be just the momentum shift that the Kittanning based 410 team needed.
Jared Miley put his H1 Rocket in Sheetz Victory Lane at Lernerville Speedway for the first time in 2011 this evening. The South Park, Pennsylvania native started on the outside of row number 3, worked his way to the front, and eventually would roll home in dominate fashion to win the 25 lap, super late model feature event. Interestingly enough, today was Jared’s first day displaying Fully Injected decals on his machine. Jared, who now becomes the first late model member of Team Fully Injected and the lone member in the late model division of the site, will be back in action tomorrow night with the All-Star Circuit of Champions Late Model Series at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio.
Danny Holtgraver, along with the entire D4 team, has been spending the past week in the state of Iowa racing with the best that sprint car racing have to offer. After a rough start to his Knoxville Nationals debut during his preliminary night, Danny would earn two top 15 finishes at the Non-Qualifiers portion of the program which took place this evening. Included in those top 15 finishes is an 8th place finish in the Race of Champions. Tim Shaffer won the Race of Champions event this evening; with Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania native, Lucas Wolfe, winning the annual World Challenge. Kevin Swindell was tonight’s Non-Qualifiers feature winner.
Kevin Nouse was this evening’s 358 Championship winner at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. “The Hammer,” Doug Esh, picked up the win worth $4100 tonight in the 410ci portion of the program at Williams Grove. Esh will be back in action tomorrow night at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. Cory Haas, who displays Fully Injected decals on the top wing of his 410 sprint car, finished solidly in a top 15 position tonight at Williams Grove Speedway. The York, Pennsylvania native finished 13th in this evening’s 410 feature event.
Tracy Hines grabbed his 75th career USAC national victory tonight at the Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas. The USAC national sprint cars are spending this weekend at the state-of-the-art Kansas facility as they continue to tour the midwest part of the country. This was Hines’ second USAC national victory of the season. He held off Jon Stanbrough and current USAC national sprint car point leader, Levi Jones, for the victory. They will spend tomorrow night at the Dodge City Raceway Park as well.
