I received a message tonight via text message stating that Rod George was spotted wearing his Fully Injected gear in a near by shopping center. To my surprise, the text message was correct, and he truly was representing FI merchandise!
The weekend didn’t exactly turn out as planned; both Friday and Saturday’s events, which included Lernerville’s second attempt at opening the season, as well as, Mercer Raceway Park’s $5,000 to win charity event, were cancelled due to cold temperatures. Although its depressing to have to wait yet another weekend for Lernerville’s gates to open, its nice to avoid the cold temperatures. Mercer Raceway Park is having a little more bad luck- being that both of their cancellations happened during “special event” program weekends. Williams Grove Speedway’s luck was up the same alley as Lernerville and Mecer’s; as they also played victim to cold and wet weather conditions, forcing a cancellation for the second straight week. Attica, Ohio’s Attica Raceway Park made an announcement at 12:30 PM Friday that they were racing- and that was certainly the case. Dean Jacobs picked up his first 410ci sprint car win of the season at the always racey, Attica Raceway Park, bullring.
The World of Outlaws are currently racing at the Calistoga Speedway in northern California – right in the heart of wine country. Last night’s winner, at Merced Speedway, was Sammy Swindell. He is now a two race winner on the year with the World of Outlaws.
