Fully Injected star and last night’s i-Monster 33 runner-up, Jared Miley, broke a drive shaft while leading tonight’s 66 lap, $7,000 to win ‘Tri-Star Pittsburgher’ finale at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. The South Park, Pennsylvania native was leading the super late model feature in dominating fashion; until bad luck struck with roughly 10 laps to go. The drive shaft components malfunctioned and broke, ending the possibility of a win for the Forcey Coal, H1. Keith Barbara was the event winner over last years champion, Davey Johnson.
Last night’s i-Monster 33 winner and Fully Injected teammate, Gregg Satterlee, ended his ‘Tri-Star Pittsburgher’ weekend with a 4th place run in the $7,000 to win, 66 lap ‘Pittsburgher’ finale. Satterlee grabbed last night’s $2,000 victory from starting row number three, and looked to be in contention of winning tonight’s finale. The caution filled event gave plenty of restart opportunities for the Rochester Mills, PA native to find his way to the front; but the Satterlee Fuels double-deuce still came up a tad short.
Mike Reft rallied from a 10th place starting spot to finish 6th in tonight’s FASTRAK/Pro Late Model 30 lap feature event. The Baldwin High School senior started out his weekend by winning his respective heat race, and ended it with a top 10 performance in the $800 to win, 30 lap finale.
