GRIMES, Iowa (August 24, 2022) – The 2022 season has been a wild ride for Grimes, Iowa’s Ryan Giles, and although his Saturday home, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, closes its doors to weekly action with the annual Season Championship on August 27, it is not too late for Giles to pile on the momentum, working eagerly to cap the regular season with a win before hitting the reset button.

A short 360 sprint car season in some respect, Giles, ace of the Ryan Giles Racing, Albaugh LLC., Iowa Barnstormers, Hicklin Powersports, Barron Equipment, Omega Concrete Mixers, No. 9 sprint car, found success along the way, finishing fifth, seventh, eighth, seventh, and fourth in consecutive appearances with his only roadblock being the 360 Knoxville Nationals.

A poor luck of the draw ultimately played a major role in Giles’ lack of success in the season’s largest 360 sprint car event. The former preliminary night winner ended the three-day campaign in the Saturday night D-Main; he did not start.

“Winning Knoxville’s final race would be huge and it’s certainly our goal,” Ryan Giles expressed. “The beginning of the year got off to a rocky start and we ended up building this team from the ground up during the entire month of June. It’s taken a lot of work and I can’t thank Dennis Albaugh and Don Lamberti enough for their confidence and support, as well as all of our friends from Hicklin Powersports, Barron Equipment, and Omega Concrete Mixers. It was a total-family effort in getting this operation off the ground and I am more than thankful for the roles everyone played.”

The only program remaining on Knoxville’s 2022 slate is an annual visit by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

“We’re excited to go out and have fun,” Giles added about the Knoxville sprint finale. “We’ll begin focusing on next year right away and hopefully build on our successes.”
