BENTON RIDGE, Ohio (August 12, 2024) – Greg Wilson’s last minute decision to visit the Keystone State certainly paid off, and although the former All Star champion and Benton Ridge, Ohio, native was short at attaining a much wanted victory, he was close, capping his three-race weekend with a runner-up finish at Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, August 11. A close battle, Wilson was in charge before losing the top spot to Apollo’s AJ Flick, edged-out at the line by less than a second.
Wilson, ace of his own Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics Warehousing & Transportation, DNC Hydraulics, No. W20 sprint car, commenced his eventual three-race weekend with a visit to Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania, on Friday, August 9, followed by the Phil Walter Classic at Clinton County Speedway in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, August 10. Although a rough start to the weekend, not finishing at Lernerville, Wilson rallied big at Clinton County, driving ahead from 20th to finish 12th.
Wilson’s runner-up finish at Tri-City resulted in his ninth top-five of the season, simultaneously increasing his top-ten tally to 12.
“So close to getting that first win of the season. Just a tad short,” Wilson expressed. “In all, a fun weekend in Pennsylvania for our team. Can’t thank Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics Warehousing & Transportation, and DNC Hydraulics for making all of this possible, and my family – they’re the backbone of this operation and I couldn’t do what I do without them. We’re not too sure of the plan for this weekend, but we’ll figure something out soon.”
