Indiana, PA (June 29th, 2015) – After a long stretch of World of Outlaws Late Model Series competition in Pennsylvania, New York and Canada, Gregg Satterlee will spend a few days at home before returning to super late model action on a more ‘local’ scale. The Rochester Mills, Pennsylvania native, who now calls Indiana, Pennsylvania home, followed the Outlaw trail for nearly two weeks; visiting four different facilities during five nights of competition. ‘The Truth’ earned two top-ten finishes during his travels, which was highlighted with an eighth place finish during ‘Firecracker 100’ preliminary competition at the Lernerville Speedway on Friday, June 26th.
“It was a long trip but it’s good to be home” said Gregg Satterlee, “We had a few good runs with those guys. We did a lot of ‘trying this’ and ‘trying that.’ We felt it was a good opportunity to try some different things with the car. Racing up in that area of New York and Canada doesn’t happen too often with us. We learned some things and we’ll put them to good use the rest of the year.”
Satterlee, driver of the Satterlee Petroleum Distributors, Keyser Manufacturing, Valvoline, no. 22, Rocket earned his first top-ten finish of his recent swing with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series during the ‘Great Northern Tour.’ The black ‘22’ rolled home 10th at the Brighton Speedway in Brighton, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, June 20th. Other recent results with the Outlaws include an 11th place finish at the Fonda (NY) Speedway on Thursday, June 18th; a 14th place performance at the Weedsport (NY) Speedway on Tuesday, June 23rd; and a 12th place finish during ‘Firecracker 100’ preliminary action at Lernerville Speedway on Thursday, June 25th. The $30,000-to-win ‘Firecracker 100’ finale on Saturday, June 27th was rescheduled to September 5th due to inclement weather conditions.
“We weren’t bad” said Satterlee, “We felt good at Lernerville on both nights. We were with some tough company during that entire stretch. I felt like we could have been a little better. We’ll try again this weekend.”
Up next on the schedule is a pair of $4,000-to-win programs in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Satterlee will venture south to the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania on Friday, July 3rd for the ‘Milt Miller Tribute.’ ‘The Truth’ will then venture east to the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland on Independence Day, Saturday, July 4th, for the ‘Firecracker 40.’ Satterlee is a 2015 winner at both half-mile ovals; recently picking up a victory at the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway during Appalachian Mountain Dirt Late Model Speedweek. The ‘22’ team will work for season win number four this weekend.
“We are pretty comfortable at both tracks we visit this weekend” explained Satterlee, “We’ve won pretty big shows at both of them this year. We want to keep that up.”
