Gregg Satterlee Takes Checkers at Natural Bridge, Firecracker on Horizon!
Rochester Mills, PA (June 26, 2012) ‘The Truth’, Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, PA picked up his sixth win of the season this past weekend at the Three State Flyers sanctioned event at Natural Bridge (VA) Speedway earning him a cool $3,500 for the victory.
Satterlee used a slick outside move to get around polesitter Jamie Lathroum on lap 21 of the scheduled 35 laps to take the lead and put his Satterlee Petroleum Distributors, East American Motorsports, Integra Shocks, JNJ Motorsports Media sponsored #22 Rocket Chassis in its sixth different victory lane this season. Gregg has now reached the Winner’s Circle at Hagerstown (MD) Speedway, Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, VA), Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, PA), Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway (Imperial, PA), Winchester (VA) Speedway, and now Natural Bridge (VA) Speedway. The win also puts him at a 50% rate of finishing in the top-five. In 32 total starts, Satterlee has an amazing 16 top-five finishes.
‘One of the things we wanted to do this year was become more consistent,’ Gregg said from his Rochester Mills, PA home. ‘I didn’t realize how consistent we’ve been until I looked at our website the other day, but that was a goal of ours going into the season. We knew if we could consistently run towards the front, the wins would come. Everyone wants to win every time you hit the track, but so far we’re pretty happy with how the season has gone.’
This upcoming weekend is one of the most anticipated of the season for the Satterlee Racing team, ‘The Firecracker is a race that we’ve been preparing for all season,’ Satterlee said. ‘It’s basically in our backyard and we really want to run well. These bigger shows are why we started travelling more this year. Racing against some of the guys we’ve raced against this year helps me as a driver and us as a team and really prepares us for these higher paying shows.’ Gregg continued, ‘We think we have a pretty solid book (setups) for Lernerville and every type of track condition that we could see this weekend. Our cars are ready to go and our Roush Yates Engines have been fantastic all year in every condition, we’re ready to go.’
Gregg and his Gregg Satterlee Racing team will be in action this upcoming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday June 28, 29, and 30 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA for the Sixth Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com. The festivities will kick off on Thursday and Friday with two separate $6,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series events while Saturday’s WoOLMS finale will pay $30,000 to the winner. Satterlee’s July Fourth holiday will continue on Tuesday, July 3 at Hesston Speedway for a $5,100 to-win Three State Flyers event and on Wednesday, July 4 at Bedford Speedway for a $3,000 to-win Unified Force Race Championship (UFo) event. Preliminary plans also have Gregg visiting the Dog Hollow Speedway on Friday, July 6 and Marion Center Speedway on Saturday, July 7 for their regular shows.
