YORK, Pa. (April 8, 2019) – With the intent to find speed before the upcoming All Star Circuit of Champions invasion of Central Pennsylvania, York’s Cory Haas did just that, as the Trone Outdoor Motorsports ace scored a top-ten finish at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, April 6.
Haas, driver of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Old Republic Distillery/Creekside Auto Sales/No. 39 sprint car, finished ninth during his visit to the Port Royal ‘Speed Palace,’ capitalizing on this fourth row starting spot to maintain a finishing position inside the top-ten.
In fact, Haas’ entire evening at Port Royal Speedway was a success story, kicking things off with an impressive heat race victory.
“We were pretty good. We still have a few things to work on before next weekend, but all in all, it was a good trip to Port Royal and I’m already looking forward to next weekend,” Cory Haas explained. “The goal was to head up to Port Royal and kinda test for the All Star race next weekend. I think we figured some things out. Hopefully we can put ourselves in a good position again next weekend and capitalize.”
As mentioned, Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports will return to competition on Friday and Saturday, April 12 & 13, joining the All Star Circuit of Champions for a pair of $6,000-to-win main events at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway, respectively.
Haas scored one top-ten finish during All Star Circuit of Champions competition in 2018; a seventh place performance at Lincoln Speedway on August 25.
