YORK, Pa. (September 30, 2019) – Building momentum is important, especially when preparing for one of the largest events in the sprint car racing world. For York’s Cory Haas, his mission to build momentum was accomplished during the recent weekend, scoring back-to-back top-ten performances during action at Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway on Friday and Saturday, September 27 & 28, respectively.

Haas, who finished ninth during Williams Grove’s World of Outlaws Tune-Up before finishing sixth during Lincoln Speedway’s 2019 finale, will use his momentum wisely, as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series prepares to invade Williams Grove Speedway for National Open action on Friday and Saturday, October 4 & 5.

Awarding a total winner’s share equaling $75,000, the two-day National Open will begin with a 25-lap preliminary main event on Friday, all of which capped-off with a 40-lap finale awarding a head-turning $65,000 top prize.

“It’s an event everyone has circled on their calendars. We’re excited to be a part of it again this year,” Cory Haas said, driver of John Trone’s Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/York PB Truss/Bricker’s/Wicked Cushion/Creekside Auto Sales/Eagle Evergreens/No. 39 sprint car and a two-time winner in 2019. “When that kind of money is on the line, it’s tough to not get pumped up for it. We’ve been able to put a lot of speed together this year. It all comes down to qualifying. You have to put an entire night together against the Outlaws. If not, you’re buried. Luckily for me, John Trone gives us the equipment necessary to be competitive. I certainly wouldn’t be here without his support.”

Cory Haas and John Trone are certainly no strangers to victory lane at Williams Grove Speedway, now with three victories at the world-famous half mile over the last two seasons.
