CHICORA, Pa. (June 6, 2022) – Sharon Speedway has not been kind to George Hobaugh thus far in 2022, and although his results at the Hartford, Ohio, oval may speak otherwise, the Chicora, Pennsylvania, open wheeler has not been satisfied, aiming to trump all results with an All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Sprint Speedweek victory on June 14.
Hobaugh, driver of the Hobaugh Motorsports, Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Hobo Storage, No. 40 sprint car, finished third during his most recent attempt at the Sharon short track, leading the first 14 circuits of the $3,000-to-win Western Pennsylvania Speedweek visit on Saturday, June 4, before taking a backseat to eventual winner, AJ Flick. Flick’s winning move occurred just after a lap 14 restart, getting by Hobaugh down the backstretch the following circuit.
Prior to losing command, Hobaugh held a convincing lead, pushing the margin to almost two seconds before reaching traffic on lap 10.
“We’ve been so close on so many occasions. It’s tough to be frustrated, but at the same time we still are,” Hobaugh said, who led 28 laps against the All Stars before finishing fifth in Sharon’s Buckeye Cup on April 30. “I can’t thank my family enough for all of their help and support. Our partners, too…we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without them.”

George Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports will highlight their upcoming schedule with an Ohio Sprint Speedweek start at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, on Tuesday, June 14. The All Star Circuit of Champions program will award $6,000.
